Social Justice is essentially the concept that everyone no matter what race, sexuality, religion etc. should be equal. Yet in our current social media and all accepting society a lot of those who preach social justice incorrectly, pretty much making it seem like an anti-white thing. The people who preach stuff like this are often uneducated, but there are people who preach the correct thing, which is what social justice is, equality for all. The people who preach it incorrectly do it at a cost, and aren’t taken seriously by people who might not agree, and then in return get a bad rep for the community they are representing. Damon Davis is a multimeadia artist and film maker.   Fiona Foley is a contemporary Indigenous Australian Artist. Foley uses her to explore tension between sex, race and history.  John Mawurndjul also is an Australian contemporary Indigenous artist.  He uses traditional motifs in innovative ways to express spiritual and cultural values. Their art is very different from each others, however they both have sort of the same message behind their work, the message the depicts their culture. I enjoy how edgy some of Foleys work is. i like the abstraction of Mawurndjul’s work, because it kind of goes back to the abstraction of the aboriginal painting.  Fiona Foley John Mawurndjul 

This style of painting dates back as far as 60-80,000 years ago when the Aborigine's had first settled in Australia. The artists use dots to compose their paintings to hide the "sacred meanings" behind the stories in the paintings. The artists abstracted their paintings so they could disguise the meaning so no Westerner could understand them     

I watch a ton of artists videos on youtube to get inspired and to look at different ways I can improve my art outside of class. There's one artist who I always seem to be hooked on watching, and her youtube name is "DrawingWiffWaffles"but her real name is Rin. I really enjoy her art because of how creative it is, I look at her as a sort of role model because I want to be able to work so I can do more things that I really love doing. I like how she identifies that doing things like developing a style or exploring a new medium is not an easy thing. I love her art style and how quirky and fun it is.     

Kehinde Wiley is a New York City-based portrait painter who is known for his highly naturalistic paintings of African-Americans. He was born in February of 1977. I really enjoy the vibrancy of his art, it’s very visually pleasing to look at. I like how the backgrounds of each piece flows in front of the model making it seem like they are part of the background. The models Kehinde chooses are really powerful in appearance, the stand out against the background and the poses they are in are extremely eye catching and cool. The pieces are just extremely empowering to look at.           

Frida Kahlo Frida Kahlo was a mexican artist who worked in self portraits. Her work was inspired by  the nature and artifacts of mexico. She developed a style to explore questions of identity, gender, class and race surrounding mexican society. She was very involved in politics,  in 1927 she joined the Mexican Communist Party, where she would meet a fellow artist and her future husband. Vincent.Van Gogh Vincent Van Gogh  was a  Dutch post impressionist painted born in  1853. His work consisted of many things like, still life’s, portraits, landscapes  and self portraits. Van Gogh was considered a failure in lifetime and was often looked at as a ad man because of his physcotic our breaks and mental state. He worked in periods of color, and his work was impulsive and dramatic. Van Gogh later died from suicide at  age 37 due to his mental state and poverty. Allyson Grey is a 66 year old artist, from Baltimore Maryland. Allyson is a painter and has been an art educator and organizer for most of her life. The one word I think of when I see her work is 'trippy'. Her work has loads of different colors are patterns and is a great example of most of the principles of art. When you step back away from her work you see the entire thing as one big harmonious piece of work and then you can go up close and notice all of the fine lining and detail it has, all of it works together to make an entire picture. Everything is very well put together. I like how her art is really vibrant and fun.
