Frida Kahlo
Frida Kahlo was a mexican artist who worked in self portraits. Her work was inspired by the nature and artifacts of mexico. She developed a style to explore questions of identity, gender, class and race surrounding mexican society. She was very involved in politics, in 1927 she joined the Mexican Communist Party, where she would meet a fellow artist and her future husband.
Vincent.Van Gogh
Vincent Van Gogh was a Dutch post impressionist painted born in 1853. His work consisted of many things like, still life’s, portraits, landscapes and self portraits. Van Gogh was considered a failure in lifetime and was often looked at as a ad man because of his physcotic our breaks and mental state. He worked in periods of color, and his work was impulsive and dramatic. Van Gogh later died from suicide at age 37 due to his mental state and poverty.
Egon Schiele
Egon Schiele was an austrian painter. His work often surrounded the human figure as he would regularly dived into the subject matter of sexuality, most of his work consisted of portraits as well, along with self portraits. The way his art flows is also super natural and flowy, but when you look at it from afar, the face is contorted, but it works well.
